mmmmm....

So, day I get back from my trip, my parents tried to LEAVE me at home! They wanted to go out to eat by THEMSELVES! I've been gone for a week and they want to go out?????? I felt very unloved. Well...In there defense, they had TWO good excuses. One was that they thought I would drop dead on my bed and sleep until the sun shined the next day, and two, they figured I've been eating out all week with my awesome aunt and living the life, that I didn't need to tag a long. Nevertheless they were mistaken in both, I did not want to sleep, and I always need to go out! Anyways, after all of that ruckus we ended up going to The Flying Biscuit. I know right!? My Mom chose it. Ahem, let me repeat. My MOM chose it. For those of you who don't know, my mom's not a big fan of going to random restaurants that are slightly expensive that serve southern food. But The Flying Biscuit had two things going for them ( I am sensing a theme here, there seem to always be two arguments...Interesting), One, turns out they have a lot of variety, one item of which I am going to share the experience with you today, and two, they put coupons in the mail! If that's not a winner to you (and my mom), I don't know what is. Okay, so enough context. What I ate, no what I EXPERIENCED ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL of eating was a plate called Jamaican Jambalaya. Yes ma'am/sir. Jamaican Jambalaya. The picture I have was poorly taken with my phone and does not even begin to express how amazing it was. So I am not going to put it. It makes me cry of how terrible it is compared to the amazingness of the pasta.  Now, the dish itself. It had tomatoes sauce, real tomato, made right there in the restaurant, and THREE kinds of meat, yes THREE. Chicken, some kind of spicy sausage, the good kind, and shrimp.... Not for the weak of heart, or stomach. It was sweet because of the tomato sauce, but naturally, not like a ton of sugar, but the kind of sweet that should be in a perfect tomato sauce. And then it was spicy because of the sausage and peppers. the pasta was a perfect canvas for it, since pasta doesn't have much flavor but is good nonetheless. Well that's it. Every bite was as enjoyable as the first. I couldn't get used to it. Well I found a picture on Google, it kind of looked like this but with penne pasta instead of rice. :)

Also, I have to mention Mrs. Roxanne's dessert. She is a lady in our Church K-Group. It's called....drumroll please......
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake
Enough said, I think

It's a colorful life...

Hello my few followers! Have you ever noticed how COLORFUL life is? Well lately I have. Today after church I realized how much our flowers have bloomed since I was gone and with the weather it was just too beautiful to pass up taking some pictures, you must forgive me though, I am not a photographer, so if the pictures aren't amazing as you think they are going to be, I'm sorry. However, you've been warned. But for me, I like em' just the way they are. I also spent some time gathering some pictures my sister Leslie took that were also really colorful. The importance here is the COLOR not the quality of the pictures ;)
I'll comment as I go.

This one was taken by Leslie. I love that cup.(And my Dad)
Naomi's Shoes! Also taken by Leslie.

I know this one isn't super colorful, but I love the edge of the sunglasses and the earring. Also taken by Leslie,

All of these flowers are in my front yard! YAY!

Um, I liked my shoes?

These are outside my window. In the summer they make my room pink :)

This is my new official favorite corner of our house.
Who will buy this wonderful morning?
Such a sky you never did see!

Yes, I painted my toes and nails to match my shoes...I couldn't help myself! It was so perfect. It is in my Dominican nature to match perfectly.

I wasn't going to put this on here, I was just having some fun with my camera till I noticed all the colors in the room...

Right after taking this (my favorite nail polishes), my green one, my super favorite broke! on my bed! it was sad. It's okay though, my comforter is that color green, it looks like a permanent wet spot instead of nail polish.

Well I hope you enjoyed these! I did.

Adventures in Florida

Well this is my first real post, and honestly I am not sure what to say. first of all, I am not in my hometown, in Georgia. I am in FLORIDA! pretty much my second hometown with my second parents, my aunt and uncle. So life at the moment is taking a pleasant pause. But let me tell ya, it's a wonderful flavorful pause. The weather is AMAZING, and best thing, no pollen! Ugh, my car back home is probably buried by now. Well, so far the trip has been great, God's been so good to let it all work out perfectly. One thing I did was start this blog...! hopefully I'll keep it up, it would have never happened with out my two good friends Sydney and Katie. (let me just say my other friend Anna has been wanting me to do this FOREVER, and if I don't mention her as the originator for my want to do a blog, she will be pretty mad. so there you go Anna). We went to one of the biggest malls in the U.S., Sawgrass Mall, man, we didn't even see half of it. My aunt is pretty much the B-O-M-B bomb. I had the most amazing drink at starbucks. Green Tea Frappucchino, it was so good, it was green! It tasted like sweet cream smoothie with a hint of earth. mmmmmm. Also we went to Ruby Tuesdays and I had the most colorful salad ever, not to mention delicious. All these awesome foods are what inspired me to finally do this blog (plus syd and and katie). Not to mention how beautiful it was outside. We went to downtown Ft. Lauderdale and it was gorgeous. Let me just say it was on the coast.

Us at the mall with my cousin Priscilla.
Seeing all the colors and beauty of little city on the beach reminded me how colorful God made life to enjoy. It gave me a taste of heaven. Speaking of which, I am reading Heaven by Randy Alcorn. It is so exciting! I am barely into it but already I can't wait. I used to think that people were so weird to say that. I mean hello, going to heaven means leaving earth. The End. Um, that's a little scary if you ask me. I used to think, I am not ready, I have so much I want to do with my life! But as I was reading I realized that Heaven is not the end. It's the beginning. A beginning for those who are In Christ. I will have so much time to do everything I want without the imperfections. Not to mention, JESUS is going to be there. :) anyways, seeing all the beauty reminded me of that....

Naples Beach
Speaking of beauty We went to the BEACH... NAPLES!!!! it was sooooo beautiful. The water was freezing, but the sun was hot, so it was deliciously pleasant. It was really windy so our umbrella kept blowing away but it was okay, all part of the adventure. That night Sydney, Katie and I went out to eat at a super nice restaurant called Brio and I ate the MOST AMAZING food ever. It was called Sausage Florentine Bruschetta. I can't even describe it. But I can say that it was perfect, the sourdough bread, salty cheese, sweet peppers, not to mention a whole other symphony of flavors, were perfect. I also had cheesecake from the CHEESECAKE FACTORY. Enough said. And the weather was perfect and the area was so pretty. It was amazing. Today is our last full day and we are going to West Palm Beach. We are going to hang out with my aunt the whole day. Did I mention my Aunt and Uncle are from the Dominican Republic like my parents? needless to say it has been a lot of fun. My Aunt is very much a "party person" in the Dominican sense. It something you either got or don't, and she does. So does Sydney, I think Katie is working on it ;) Well, I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Hopefully they will help you feel even the tiniest bit of the amazing week we are having.

This was outside of some apartments we saw. We did think about parking there...but after seeing THAT we didn't. :)

There it is. Sausage Florentine Bruschetta

Life is full of flavors

Ever since I was young I have loved food. Not just food but the flavors. The sensation of the flavors mixing in my mouth. You know Ratatouille? The fireworks that came up everytime he tasted something? That's what happens in my head. Everytime. But it's not just food that's flavorful, life is. Music, art, friends, family, all the stuff that makes a life unique from everyone else's. We all have our own flavors. I'm going to tell you about mine. I can't promise I'll post every week, but everytime something flavorful happens, you'll know.
